A delegation, led by US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Alan Bersin, arrives here today to discuss potential areas of collaboration, especially aviation security and law enforcement.
The ‘interagency delegation’ includes officials from the DHS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the US Department of State. They will hold a series of meetings with Bangladesh government officials to engage on security issues during their three-day stay in Dhaka.
“We welcome this visit by officials from the US Department of State, Federal Aviation Administration and the US Department of Homeland,” US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat was quoted in a statement issued by the Embassy on Monday. Security as an opportunity to exchange ideas about enhancing security for the wellbeing of citizens of both the countries, the envoy said.
