A two-member delegation led by Professor Dr Michael Adams, Dean of the School of Law of Western Sydney University, Australia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Monday at the latter’s office of the university.
Other member of the delegation was Prof Dr Masudul Hoque.
Professor Dr A.S.M Amanullah of DU Sociology Department and Prof Dr Delwar Hossain of International Relations Department were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed about establishment of an ‘International Centre for Ocean Governance’ at Dhaka University.
They also discussed the possibilities of strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programmes between the University of Dhaka and Western Sydney University, Australia.
The DU VC sought cooperation from the delegation to increase scholarships for the students of Bangladesh at the Australian universities.
They also stressed the need for more exchange programmes of teachers,
students, researchers and staff between the two countries.
