Attackers won’t be spared, says Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday said none of the perpetrators who were involved in the attack on Ghoraghat UNO Wahida Khanam will be spared.
The minister came up with the warning while talking to reporters during a press briefing at his residence on Friday.
Mentioning that investigation is underway in full swing, Kamal said: “RAB
 and police are jointly working to unveil the truth behind the incident. However, none of the attackers will be spared.”
From now on Ansar battalion will ensure security to the upazila nirbahi officers of the country, said the minister, adding that gradually Bangladesh Ansar will take over the duty of protecting ministers’ residences also.
Meanwhile, two persons including the prime accused have been arrested in connection with the attack on Wahida Khanam.
Law enforcers identified them by analyzing the CCTV footage of the UNO’s residence.
RAB and police jointly continuing drives to detain other perpetrators involved in the attack.
Wahida Khanam, upazila nirbahi officer of Ghoraghat upazila in Dianjpur, regained consciousness on Friday morning hours after undergoing a crucial surgery last night, said a doctor at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital.
However, the UNO is currently under observation at the intensive care unit of the hospital.
UNO Wahida Khanam and her father were severely injured when they came under attack by miscreants at her official residence in Ghoraghat upazila around 2:00 am on Thursday.
Following the attack, the duo was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH). As Wahida’s condition deteriorated Thursday morning, she was airlifted to Dhaka.
