Battery-run Rickshaw Owners Parishad brought out a protest procession and formed human chain protesting the attack and ransacking of battery-run rickshaws by the CNG auto-rickshaw drivers on Thursday.
The rickshaw owners brought out procession in city area with slogan of Battery Rickshaw is plying and will ply despite any resistance . Rickshaw owners -drivers formed human chain in front of Chittagong Press club yesterday morning . The speakers in the human chain said battery run rickshaws are environment friendly one where as CNG taxi are not environment friendly and charge fare maximum from the passengers . The said battery run rickshaws are capable to reach the passenger to their destinations in due time with less fare than the CNG taxis. Centering the attack by CNG taxis, ransacking the rickshaws by battery- run rickshaw drivers , maximum rickshaws went off roads and the commuters faced miseries to reach their destinations during office hours, different sufferers said.
