Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman officially inaugurated the Child Day Care Centre for five state owned commercial banks operating in Motijheel area on Thursday.
As per Bangladesh Banks guidance Sonali, Rupali, Janata, Agrani and BASIC bank took the initiative to lead the project and find a day care centre for the staff children of state owned commercial banks at Samsul Alamin Centre in the area.
Executive Director M Mahfuzur Rahman and Nawsad Ali Chowdhury were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
During his speech at the inauguration ceremony Dr Atiur Rahman said, “”Bangladesh Bank is fully committed to gender-friendly policies and making bank/financial institutions fully compliant with these policies.
“Bangladesh Bank has itself established a world-class day care centre and wants other banks to do the same in their cluster. As a part of this initiative, several private banks already operated Day Care Centres. Now the govt. commercial banks have come to launch to this initiative. Let me congratulate them all for this humane gender sensitive initiative. Good Luck.” Said BB governor.
BB Governor called for improving work environment in banking sector and corporate for women to increase their participation in economic activities.
