Athletes Mesbah, Shirin ready to show best

Bangladesh fastest male and female athletes Mesbah Ahmed and Shirin Akter will vie on the first day of the athletics event, the most attractive discipline of ongoing Commonwealth Games, that begins today (Sunday) in Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast, Australia.
Shirin will run in women’s 100m sprint in the first round heat no 1 in noon and after the heat the qualifiers will take part in the semi-finals scheduled to be held in the afternoon. The final of this event will be held on Monday (April 9).
Shirin will also take part in the 200m sprint. The semifinals and final of this event will take place on April 11 and 12 respectively. Before turning to the track Shirin said she has taken a very good preparation and hoped to perform better than the previous.
On the Shirin’s day, Mesbah will also compete in the men’s 100m of the first rounds heat no 6 in the afternoon. The semi-finals of this event also will be held on the same day while the final is slated on Monday (April 9) where the fastest man of the Games will be decided.
Before turning to the track, Mesbah said he had gone through a rigorous training ahead of the games and he is content of his preparation.
Mesbah said he want to do something good by putting his best timing in Gold Coast Games.
