Ahead of upazila election, a meeting of grassroots level leaders and workers was held to select chairmen, vice-chairmen and women’s vice-chairman candidates in Sadar Upazila Awami League at Amir International Hotel in the city recently.
After the meeting , Ashraf Hossain was nominated candidate according to the opinion of leaders and workers .
Apart from the candidates selected from the grassroots, there are instructions for sending the list of more than one candidate to the central committee , accordingly names of Morshedul Alam Jahangir, Rezaul Hasan Babu and Principal Abu Sayeed Mohammad Fakhrul will be sent to the center respectively.
According to the central decision of the Awami League, the vice-chairman and the female vice-chairman candidate are open.
Former Minister of Mymensingh Awami League, before the meeting, former Minister of Religious Affairs Alhaj Principal Motiur Rahman. Sadar Upazila Awami League President Abdus Salam Sarkar chaired the meeting, moderating the general secretary Emdadul Haque Mondal. Mymensingh City Awami League President Alhaj Ehteshamul Alam, President of District Motor Malik Samiti and District Awami League Vice President Mamtaz Uddin Manta, District Awami League Office Secretary Abu Sayeed Din Fakhrul, District Awami League Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary Rezaul Hasan Babu, Metropolitan Awami League Vice-President Professor Golam Ferdous Zillu, Joint General Secretary Hossain Jahangir Babu, District Jubo League Adv Azharul Islam were present in the meeting .
It is to be mentioned that, in the meeting, 4 candidates for the post of chairman, 4 for the posts of vice chairman and 3 for the female vice chairman post.
