Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has asked police members to fine and wreck the vehicles if found idly occupying left lane of road and taking passengers in the capital city.
The DMP commissioner was speaking at a launching ceremony of a pedestrians’ awareness programme and cash card system for traffic prosecution fine realization at Kakrail intersection on Sunday.
He also directed the police to detain the driver and seize the vehicle if anyone is found talking on mobile phone while driving.
“The driver can’t concentrate on driving if he/s talks on the phone in the moving vehicle. The drivers talk much on phone usually causing large scale fatalities,” he added.
It is to noted that from now on, vehicle papers won’t be seized on the spot as traffic prosecution fine can instantly be paid through cash cards — credit, visa, bKash, Rocket etc apart from cash money.
