Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed on Thursday inaugurated the construction works of three educational institutions at Jolshiri Abashon in the city.
Three educational institutions – Adamji Public School and College, Jolshiri Public School and College and Bangladesh International School and College – would be constructed at 10, 12, 16 number sectors of Jolshiri Abashon near Purbachal in the city, an ISPR press release said. Senior officials of Bangladesh Army, local elite and teachers and students of different schools and colleges, among others, were present at the function.
The construction works of first phase of three educational institutions will be completed by 2019 and academic activities are likely to start from 2020, it added.
General Aziz said alongside offspring of members of armed forces, children of the people who contributed lands to the project as well as members of local people would get the opportunity of studying at these educational institutions.
As per the planning of the project, a modern hospital and a university will be constructed; he said adding, socioeconomic activities in the area will be improved after construction of these infrastructures. Following the completion of first phase construction, as many as 500 students will be enrolled from class one to class ten for academic year 2020 in the Adamji Public School and College while 3,200 students will get the opportunities of studies after completion of the second phase construction work.
Similarly, a significant number of students will be enrolled at Jolshiri Public School and College and Bangladesh International School and College after finishing construction of those.
