Army Chief adorned as 7th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineers

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed was adorned as the 7th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers on Monday at the Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering at the Qadirabad Cantonment in Natore.
Senior Commanding Officer of the Corps of Engineers Lieutenant Colonel Faruq and Senior Subedar (Honorary Captain) Major Rashid adorned the Army Chief with the rank badge of ‘Colonel Commandant’, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
Being adorned with the rank badge, General Aziz Ahmed took the darbar and addressed the Annual Captain Conference of the Corps of Engineers and gave directions to all the captains who joined the conference. The Chief of Army Staff urged all members of the Corps of Engineers to be prepared to cope with the difficult challenges of the 21st century by acquiring skills through modern and time-befitting trainings. Senior military officials of Army, civil dignitaries and military and civil members of the Corps of Engineers were also present on the occasion. Earlier, a smartly-turned out contingent of Corps of Engineers gave a Guard of Honour to General Aziz Ahmed when he reached the venue. Later, he went round the quarter guard of Corps of Engineers and placed a floral wreath at the monument built in memory of the martyrs of the Liberation War.
