A woman’s leg was severely fractured when a reckless bus driver rammed her in the city’s Bangalmotor area on Tuesday noon.
The victim was identified as Krishna Ray, 52, Assistant Manager of Bangladesh Inland Transport Corporation (BIWTC).
Quoting local sources, Nazrul Islam, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of BIWTC said that Krishna Ray wanted to visit old Dhaka for official purpose and was waiting for bus at the Bangalmor around 2 pm.
Instantly, a passenger bus of Trust Paribahan ran her over though she was on the footpath of Banglamotor intersection.
“Krishna’s left leg was severely fractured.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and afterward she was shifted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) for better treatment.” Krishna Roy was undergoing a surgery of her leg till the filling of the report at 7:00pm.
It is noted that Rajib, a third-year student of Government Titumir College, lost the hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses which were trying to overtake each other in the capital’s Bangla Motor area last year.
