Ananta Jalil, a renowned businessman and also a film superstar, has taken responsibilities of the two younger brothers of Rajib Hossain, a college student who died recently following a road accident in Dhaka.
Talking to media, Ananta Jalil said that he called the duo to his office at Hemayetpur of Savar on Monday.
“I am very delighted to take their responsibilities. They will live with their aunt and uncle. I will bear all the cost for them,” he said.
On April 3, Rajib, a third-year student of Government Titumir College in Dhaka, lost his right hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses trying to overtake each other in the capital’s Bangla Motor area.
He also suffered brain hemorrheage in the accident. He died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on April 16.
Ananta Jalil expressed his willingness on his verified Facebook page on April 17 to take the responsibilities of two younger brothers — Mehedi Hasan Bappi and Abdullah Hridoy after the tragic death of Rajib.
Besides, Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon, at a press conference on April 18, said the government will bear all educational expenses of the two younger brothers of Rajib.
Rajib was the guardian to his younger brothers after the death of their father in 2007.
Their mother also died when Rajib was only eight years old. Extended family members have looked after them all.
