Aman among 89 BNP men indicted in two cases

A Dhaka court yesterday (Thursday) framed charges in two cases, filed for vandalism and torching vehicles, against 89 BNP leaders and activists, including its Joint-Secretary General Amanullah Aman.
Judge Nazmul Haque Shyamal of the Dhaka’s Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and Speedy Trial Court fixed next January 5 to begin the trial and recording of the deposition of witnesses.
A total of 67 BNP leaders and activists, including Aman, the party’s International Affairs Secretary Nazim Uddin Alam, former Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President
 Sultan Salauddin Tuku and its Dhaka district unit President Rezaul Karim Paul, appeared in the court yesterday.
The court also issued warrants for the arrest of the accused who did not turn up to the court.
Sub-Inspector Abdul Haque Sikdar of Savar Model Police Station filed the case on the charges of vandalism and torching vehicles at Aminbazar on December 9 last year.
Police submitted charge sheet of the case against 65 people, including Aman and Nazim to the court on December 25 of that year.
Some Abdul Jalil filed the other case with the police station on charge of damaging and torching vehicles in front of Tetuljhara College at Aminbazar on the day. Police submitted charge sheet of this case against 24 BNP men, including Aman and former
MP Dewan Salauddin Babu, on December 23 of the year.
