A grand rally of Alem-Ulema will be held in capital Dhaka on April 6, according to a decision of the Islamic Foundation.
The grand rally will be held at the Suhrawardy Udyan at 3.00 pm as part of marking the 42nd anniversary of the Islamic Foundation, which was established by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting held on Thursday at the Ministry of Religious Affairs with its Secretary Mohammad Abdul Jalil in the chair, said an official handout.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the function as the chief guest, while a six-member Saudi delegation from Mashid-E-Nababi, which includes its Khatib, will attend as special guests.
Imams of 260,000 mosques, teachers and employees of 65,000 mosque-based child and mass education centres, members of 61,000 Imam-Muajjins Welfare Trust and thousands others are expected to join the rally.
