An Awami League activist was killed in a clash between two factions of the party over establishing supremacy in Saltha upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Sakhawat Hossain, 50.

Station, said that supporters of Atghar union parishad chairman Shahidul Islam Shohag, joint general secretary of Saltha unit AL and a UP member Wadud Matubbar, also general secretary of Gotti union AL locked into a clash in the afternoon over the previous enmity.
The clash left around 20 people injured, the OC said adding that the clash continued for several hours.
Among them, seven critically injured were admitted at Faridpur Medical College Hospital where Sakhawat, a supporter of Wadud group, succumbed to his injuries.
Additional police have been deployed to avoid any further untoward situation.
