Afif, Yasir slam ton as East Zone post 490 runs on Day 2 in BCL

Yasir Ali emulate teammate Afif Hossain as he also slammed a brilliant 110 not out as East Zone piled up 490 runs in their innings against North Zone on the second day of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Sunday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
However North Zone was 28 for no loss in the remaining eight overs of the second day’s play.
East Zone began their first innings at overnight total of 293 for three wickets, thanks to a superb 105 by Afif Hossain.
They were bowled out for 490 in 169.5 overs. Yasir Ali scored his unbeaten 110 off 250 deliveries laced with eight well timed boundaries to make sure the good works done by the other batsmen does not go down the drain. Abul Hossain with 46 was another East Zone batsman to shine with willow on Sunday.
Yasir Arafat with 3 for 61, Sunzamul Islam with 3 for 131 and Ariful Haque with 2 for 64 was the leading North Zone bowlers.
Earlier yesterday Afif Hossain pairing with Imtiaz Hossain gave East Zone a perfect start contributing 197 runs for the opening stand.
Aiff played an impressive knock of 105 runs off 171 balls laced with 14 boundaries and two over boundaries while Imtiaz supported him with a brilliant 81 runs off 148 balls that contained eight boundaries and two over boundaries.
Yasin Arafat captured two wickets conceding 34 runs.
