Afghans beat BD in Asia Cup

Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in their first Group-B match of the Asia Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh piled up a fighting total of 127 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Afghanistan reached the winning spot making 131 runs for the loss of three wickets when they had nine balls to spare.
Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran and Hazratullah Zazai played the key role for Afghanistan’s victory.
Ibarahim Zadran remained unbeaten with 42 runs, while Najibullah Zadran remained unbeaten with 43 runs. Hazratullah Zazai made 23.
Mosaddek Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin took one wicket each for 12, 13 and 27 runs respectively.
Earlier, Bangladesh faced early collapse as they lost four wickets for 28 runs.
Mahmudullah Riyad and Mosaddek Hossain built a worthy partnership. They put on together 36 runs in the sixth wicket stand before Riyad was caught by Ibrahim Zadran off Rashid Khan when Bangladesh’s total was 89 for the loss of six wickets.
Riyad made 25 from 27 balls featuring one four.
Mosaddek Hossain remained unbeaten with 48. His 31-ball knock was laced with four fours and a sixer.
Off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and leg-spinner Rashid Khan grabbed three wickets each instead of 16 and 22 runs respectively.
