Bangladesh Railway will begin selling of advance train tickets from June 2 to ensure hassle-free journey for Eid passengers.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka, additional director general (operations) of Banglasdesh Railway Jalal Uddin Mia told the media on Monday.
The advance tickets for travelling on June 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, will be sold on June 2, 3, 4,5 and 6 respectively, said an official of the Traffic Division of the railway.
The sale of the return ticket will start from June 9 and will continue till June 13.
Besides, the return ticket for June 19, 20, 21 and 22 will be distributed on June 10, 11, 12 and 13, the official said.
All the tickets will be sold at Dhaka’s Kamalapur and Chittagong railway station around 8:00 am following the day.
A person will be able to buy maximum four tickets. Sold ticket would not returnable.
At Kamalapur railway station 23 ticket counters will provide the ticket. Women counter will be separated.
This year also 25 per cent ticket will be available online, 5 percent VIP and 5 percent for railway staffs.
