Sale of advance tickets of trains began in the Sylhet city on Tuesday ahead of the Eid-Ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims.
The advance sale started with the tickets for September 20 and it will continue for next four days for the tickets of September 21, 22, 23 and 24 respectively.
Advanced tickets of nine intercity trains will be sold in the scheduled dates.
However, on the first day pressure of ticket seekers was thin.
Sylhet Railway Station Manager visited the ticket selling activities at the Railway Station in the morning. He told the reporters that special trains will ply to cope with the additional pressure for ticket.
Government Railway Police (GRP) SP Nazrul Islam said some 1,250 cops will work to resist activities of criminals and ensure safe movement of passengers.
