Additional Attorney-General M Khalilur Rahman has been relieved of his post on Monday.The Law and Justice Division of the Law Ministry has issued a notification in this regard on Monday afternoon.The notification signed by acting secretary for Law Syed Aminul Islam, stated that the government has relived MK Rahman from his post by cancelling his appointment.However, it did not mention any reason behind the appointment cancellation.MK Rahman is also the coordinator of International Crimes Tribunal’s prosecution team. The notification however, did not state whether he would be performing his duty as the ICT prosecution team coordinator.When asked, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told The New Nation yesterday that the government has relieved him following proper procedure.He, however, declined to comment further on the issue.
