The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken statement of four officials of Chittagong Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) in connection with appointment and promotion related irregularities allegedly committed by the WASA Deputy Secretary Jahangir Alam.
A team led by ACC Senior Deputy Director (DD) Mir Mohammad Joynal Abedin Shibli recorded their testimonies in the Commission Headquarters on Sunday.
They are Chittagong
WASA Assistant Engineer (Civil) Farhana Zebin, Accountant Assistant Afsana Nur, Revenue Officers Mir Hossain and Liakat Ali.
The Commission is set to interrogate the alleged accused Jahangir Alam today (Monday) in this regard. It will also take statement of four more officers of the WASA.
The allegation says, Jahangir Alam along with some dishonest officials of the organisation engaged in illegal appointment and promotion trade and made huge amount of money through this way.
He gave priority to his own area — Chittagong district people — in the jobs, it was alleged.
