ACC seizes some documents of Barapukuria

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday seized some documents of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Limited (BCMCL) to look into the disappearance of coal from BCMCL.
A three-member team led by its director (Administration) Kazi Shafiqul Alam visited the coal mine project on Sunday and Monday and seized the papers.
The incident of coal disappearance was primarily found to be true, said Shafiqul Alam. Details will be revealed after proper
 investigation, he added.
The disappearance of coal came to light recently when a team from Power Development Board visited the coal mine and found that there was no adequate reserve of coal in the yard of the mine.
As per the official investigation, the stock was found to have a shortage of 148,000 tonnes of coal.
A case was filed with Parbatipur Police Station on July 24 against 19 officials. The case was later shifted to the Anti-Corruption Commission for investigation.
