The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Railway has recommended to abrogate the agreement between Bangladesh Railway and Concord group. Concord Group is running the Foy’s Lalke Amusement park & Resort since 2003.
Concord Group signed deal with Bangaldesh Railway, east zone to run the foy’s lake amusement park for 50 years term from 2003.
But lack of fulfillment of all the terms and conditions of the deal , allegations arrived against the Concord, sources said.
Mentionable that Concord signs deal with Railway to use huge areas of Railway land with very nominal fees and more the leasing company did not fulfill the all terms and conditions in due to. In the meantime, Railway authority alleges against the Concord recently .
According to PSC on Railway ministry meeting on Sunday review the meeting of the Railway authority, Parjatan corporation and Concord Group held in May last where a number of allegations presented against the leasing company for violating the different clause of the terms and conditions. Chief Estate officer of Railway, East zone Md Jasimuddin told that Concord is violating the terms of the deal despite several reminders.
This matter was elaborately discussed in the PSC meeting and thereafter recommended to abrogate the deal of Concord Group . The recommendations of the PSC will be sent to Ministry for next necessary action, he added.
