Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said the government has allocated 71,040 metric tonnes (MTs) of rice and Taka 114 crore for distribution among flood-hit families of six haor areas.
The disaster management and relief minister said the rice and money have been allocated for rehabilitating 3.80 lakh flood-affected families of six haor areas.
The minister said this on the tenth instant while replying to a starred question of treasury bench member Kamal Ahmed Majumder in the Jatiya Sangsad.
“This amount of rice and cash would be distributed among them till April, 2018,” he said.
Maya said, “The government has also allocated 225 MTs rice and Tk 4.5 lakh as gratuitous relief (GR) in favor of deputy commissioners of 64 districts for facing the situation caused by various natural calamities.
Besides, the government has already distributed 38,500 MTs GR rice and Tk
12.50 crore, dry foods of Tk 90 thousand, five thousand bundle of tin and Tk
1.50 crore as house building grant among flood victims, he added.
