70 held during pry assist teacher entry test

Police arrested a total of 70 people including a college principal for adopting unfair means including supplying of answer scripts, using electronic devices and leaking question paper of primary assistant teacher recruitment test across the country on Saturday.
In Pabna, at least 16 people including Pabna Gov’t Shahid Bulbul College Principal and teachers were arrested for adopting unfair means during the exams.
The detainees including Principal Rezaul Islam and Chemistry teacher
Abdul Haq of Pabna Gov’t Shahid Bulbul College, Political Science teacher Shamim Hossain of Sujanagar Dulai Degree College and Accounting teacher Iqbal Hossain of Atakula Amena Khatun Degree College, were sentenced to different jail terms by the mobile court.
In Barishal, police arrested seven people while they were planning to leak question paper at Imperial Residential Hotel in Girza area, said Mahiuddin, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station.
Three electronic devices, eight mobile phones and TK 1.5 lakh cash were recovered during the raid, he added.
After getting confessional statement of the detainees, police arrested three others including Rejaul Karim Bappi, former president of BCL’s Syed Hatem Ali College unit.
In Rajshahi, police detained ten members of a question paper forgery ring from different parts of the city while there were helping the candidates during the exams using electronic devices, said Md Igbal Hossain, Superintendent of district police.
On information, police also raided a house at Komaigari area and seized some electronic devices.
