Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Wednesday rescued seven fisherment from Shelar gang area of Mongla, who were abducted by forest robbers two days earlier.
A total of 10 fishermen were kidnapped from Kalamula and Harintana areas of the Sundarbans in Sharankhola upazila of the district earlier on Monday.
Leftenent Colonel M Fariduzzaman Khan of Mongla Coast Guard (West Zone) said they hah been conducting drives in Sunderbans to rescue
the fishermen since Monday.
This morning in Shelar gang area they located two boats of the pirates and rescued the seven fishermen while the forest robbers, however, managed to flee.
They also seized two boats of pirates, a firearm, two rounds of bullets from the spot and still searching for rest three abducted fishermen, he added.
