5th-grader school girl raped in city

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two miscreants in the city’s Bhatara area on Saturday night. The victim is a student of class V of a local school.
The girl has been admitted to One-stop Crisis Center (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), said Bilkis Begum, Coordinator of OCC said.
 “We will be sure about
 the incident after getting the forensic report,” the Coordinator said.
The alleged rapists are Shahin, 25, and Nazmul, 27. The both came from ruling party back families, police sources said.
The victim’s brother alleged that one Rashedul Amin Khandkar alias Shahin along with his aides raped his sister after taking her into a room on the first floor of Samir Ali Market in the area. They picked up the victim when she was returning home with her elder sister after paying a visit to a friend’s house around 8:30pm on Saturday.
He also claimed that the rapists’ families vandalized their decorator shop five years ago.
He also alleged that Rashedul is the younger brother of local Awami League Leader Shahid Khandkar.
 “Father of the girl filed a case with the police station in this connection, said Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurul Muttaki.
Police are looking into the matter with topmost priority, the OC said.
We are trying to arrest the rapists, he said.
