59th Nat’l Convention of IEB starts today

The 59thh National Convention of the Engineers Institution, Bangladesh (IEB) will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday.
The four day long convention will be held at the IEB Building in the capital city.
IEB Secretary General Engineer Khandaker Monjur Morshed disclosed it at a press conference at the IEB Building in the city. IEB President Engineer Mohammad Abdus Sabur, Vice-Presidents Nuruzzaman, Manjurul Haque and MN Siddique and Assistant General Secretary Nazrul Islam, among others, were present.
The leaders said that Hussain Muhammad Ershad, the opposition
leader in the Parliament will be the Chief Guest in the closing session of the convention on March 6.
The theme of this year’s convention is ‘ Excellence: Earth To Space’. Besides, the subject is ‘Engineers for Leadership in Sustainable Infrastructure Development in Bangladesh’.
The IEB leaders said Bangladesh is going fast towards development and the engineers are working with their heart and soul to gear up this development work.
Replying to a query, IEB President said, about 70, 000 registered engineers are working for sustainable development of the country.
Replying to another query, IEB General Secretary said, they are always response fast in any emergency occurred and they suggest the best to the government to overcome those.
