Five people, including two women, were killed and five others injured in separates road accidents in Bogra Sadar, Sherpur and Shahjahanpur upazilas on Friday.
In Sherpur, three people, including two women, were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a Dhaka-bound bus on Dhaka-Bogra highway at Hazipur area of the upazila on Friday afternoon, said local police sources.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Of the injured, four were admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
In Sadar upazila, a helper of a bus was killed in a head-on collision between the bus and a sand-laden truck at Naudapara area of the upazila in the morning, said Traffic Inspector of the upazila Bikarna Chowdhury.
The deceased was identified as Prokash, 25, son of Sohag Mia of Sherpur upazila.
In Shahjahanpur, a van driver sustained critical injuries as his van plunged into a roadside ditch on Bogra-Notore road in Ranirhat area at noon.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
