A court here on Thursday placed five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a five-day remand in a case filed in connection with blasts at city’s Hoseni Dalan.
Those remanded are Chan Miah, Omar Faruk alias Manik, Mohammad Shahjahan, Ahsan Ullah Mahbub, and Kabir Hossain alias Rashed alias Ashik.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Yunus Khan passed the order when inspector of Detectives Branch (DB) of police M Mostafa Ansari produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each. The court also rejected their bail pleas.
Members of DB police in separate drives arrested the five JMB men from different parts of the capital from Wednesday night to early Thursday. The DB team arrested Chan Miah from Mirpur while Manik from Abdullahpur, Shahjahan and Mahbub from Gulistan and Ashik from Kamrangichar area.
