45 rivers marked rise, 36 fall

Water levels in 45 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 36 stations recorded fall.
Among the 84 monitored water level stations, one river station has been registered steady and four river stations were registered flowing above danger level, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Thursday. The Kansha river at Jariajanjail, the Halda at Naryanhat, the Matamuhuri at Lama and Chiringa are flowing above its danger levels by 15 cm, 5cm, 80cm, and 96 cm respectively.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday. A total of 420 mm rainfall were recorded at Cox’s Bazar, 276 mm at Lama, 213 mm at Teknaf , 154 mm at Chittagong, 140 mm at Bandarban, 85 mm at Rangamati, 73 mm at Panchpukuria, 60 mm at Narayanhat, 50 mm at Parsuram, 197mm at Barisal, 92 mm at Naogaon, 90 mm at Tangail, 75 mm at Brahmanbaria, 65.6 mm at Narsingdi, 60.5 mm at Bhagykul, 72.5 mm at Rangpur, 58 mm at Kurigram , 58 mm at Kaunia and 53.4 mm at Jessore.
