About fire accidents damaged properties worth Tk 27, 21, 82,000 from January to October 31, 2020 in Barishal division.
At least one was dead and another one severely injured in those fire accidents.
Properties worth 52, 68, 58,500 taka were saved by timely actions taken by fire service men of the division.
ABM Mamatajuddin Ahmmad, Deputy Director of Barishal Divisional Fire Service and civil defense directorate, disclosing the facts said this on Friday.
Besides in 236 road and marine accidents 78 victims died, 401 injured during this period in the division, fire service and civil defense sources added.
In six districts of Barishal division there are 38 fire service and civil defense stations including 3 A-grade, 23 B-grade and 12 C-grade stations.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as leader of fire service and civil defense friendly government taking special project planned to increase numbers of the fire service and civil defense stations to more than seven hundred in the country.
They also took different types of awareness creating and training programmes for preventing and rescuing those accidents, fire service and civil defense sources added.
