4 killed in Shibalaya road accidents

Four people, including teachers and students, were killed and four others were injured in a separate truck-bus accidents at Shibala. The accidents took place at Tepra Abdul Alim Memorial School, Mahadevpur Bus Stand and Arpara. Although there were separate cases, the drivers and helpers were not arrested. Three members of investigation committee have formed.
A student and teacher were killed and four others were injured when a truck belonging to the National Development Engineering-NDE Company., a Dhaka-Aricha Highway repair contractor died with a roller. A Unique Paribahan bus run over unknown motorcyclist.
The first incident took place at around 9 am on Monday when a truck belonging to the company parked inside the Abdul Alim Memorial School in Shibrampur village of Shibalaya Upazila was pulled over by students and parents on the side of the gate.
Excited crowds protested and vandalized the incident. The founding headmaster and colleagues of the school have covered their bodies. Shibalaya UNO Md. Zahidur Rahman, Highway Police OC Zakir Hossain, OC Md. Shahin, members of the fire brigade went to the spot and handled the situation. The truck driver helper escaped.
The injured were rushed to Hospitals where teacher Fatima, 35, died on the way to Monno Medical College and Jarin Tazreen Mina died on the way to Uthali Hospital. Mina is the daughter of local Sonali Bank manager Shahidul Islam and teacher Fatema is the wife of Awlad Hossain of Vakla village. Fatima’s body was buried at her village home.
Seriously injured students Samia (10), Lucky (15), Safin (9) were admitted to ManikganjSadar Hospital and shopkeeper Josna (40) was admitted to Dhaka Pangu Hospital.
Meanwhile, Ashraful Islam, 25, son of Alamgir of Chikri village in Pabna Sadar upazila, an assistant surveyor of NDE company, died on the spot while repairing a road in Arpara area of Uthali-Paturia ferry link road.

Besides, an unidentified 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed when a bus carrying Paturia-bound Unique Paribahan hit him at Mahadevpur bus stand of the upazila around 11am.
Highway Police OC Zakir Hossain said a case has been registered in separate road accidents.
