The government has brought 335 madrasas under Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facility aimed at improving quality of the madrasa education.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday disclosed this in the House while replying to an independent member Haji M Selim. The government, he said, has launched vocational course at 100 madrasas and opened honours course in four subjects at 31 Fazil- Kamil across the country.
Besides, giving importance to madsara education, the government distributed textbooks to students from class-I to class-IX at Ibtedai madsaras free of cost and the government has approved proposal for opening science and computer subject, the minister told the House.
The government, he said, has a plan to increase allowance for Ebtedai Madrasa teachers.
The government has given training to madrasa teachers on creative question paper under Secondary Education Sector Development Project, which is also going on, he said. Science and computer lab has been set at 35 madsaras aimed at improving quality of madrasa education, Nahid siad. He also said the education ministry would also train madsara examiners for evaluation of the answer sheets on creative questions along with general examiners under the Dhaka Education Board.
The minister said the government has established separate Madrasa Directorate to control and ensure its smooth management.
