300 BRTC buses to carry Ijtema devotees

BSS, Dhaka :Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has decided to operate special bus services in two phases for the Biswa Ijtema this year.BRTC will operate special bus services from January 21 to February 3 for ferrying devotees of the Bishwa Ijtema.Besides, the state-run corporation will also operate special bus services to carry passengers from various places and bus terminals in the city during the Ijtema time.The BRTC would operate special bus service with its one d,cor and double d,cor for 14 days including two phases of the Ijtema this year, according to a handout received here yesterday.The state-owned transport agency will provide at least 300 BRTC buses for carrying the participants to the Ijtema yard from different places of the country and return them back to the places they came from.According to the BRTC, the special buses will operate from Aricha, Paturia, Mirpur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Comilla, Bhairab, Kuti Chowmuhani, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Birishiri, Netrakona, Sonapur, Char Jabbar, Lakshmipur, Kalmakanda, Madan, Monohardi, Mirkadim, Mohanganj, Akhaura, Mymensingh, Sayedabad, Gulistan, Gabtali, Kamlapur, Mahakhali, Azimpur and Joydevpur during the 14 days of Ijtema. Meanwhile, the BRTC authority has decided to operate a special bus from Airport to Ijtema venue for carrying foreigners. The first phase of the Bishwa Ijtema would be held from January 24 to 26. The second phase would be held from January 31 to February 2 with a break of four days.The double-decker buses will also carry passengers from Kakrail Mosque point to Ijtema point. The buses of BRTC will carry the participants back after the Ijtema’s ‘Akheri Munajat’.
