Three people, including an elderly woman, were killed on the spot and five others injured in separate road accidents here monday morning.
Police said, the accident occurred in Boliarpur, Ashulia and Ziranibazar areas and killed three persons and injured 5 others. The wounded were admitted to different hospitals.
The police said, a BRTC bus ran over a pedestrian on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Bliarpur, while another bus “Shyamoli Paribahan” smashed an elderly woman at Ashulia, leaving her dead on the spot.
Another accident occurred at Ziranibazar. Police seized the BRTC bus, while its driver managed to escape.
Later, the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
