Staff Reporter : At least three persons were killed and another was injured in two separate road accidents in the city on Friday.Of them, a woman and her son were killed, while her daughter was injured when a covert van rammed into the rickshaw of which they were passengers at Matuail in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Friday morning.The victims have been identified as Shakila Israt Jhumur, 30, and her son Aminul Islam, 6, from Barisal district. Jhumur’s daughter Rita, 9, who was also injured in the accident, was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), police said. DMCH Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Chandro Das said that two passengers were killed and another one was injured at Matuail around 11:00am when a covert van hit the rickshaw. Local people took them to DMCH where the on-duty doctors declared Jhumur and Amin dead.The bodies were handed over to the victims’ relatives after postmortem, the ASI said.The same day, one Farida Yasmin, 33, was killed and her husband Abdul Hashem injured as a truck knocked down their motorcycle in Demra’s Amulia area around in the morning.
