3 kidnapped fishermen return after paying ransom in Bagerhat

Three fishermen including Jahangir Molla, a fisherman of village Sonakhali under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district and two others who were kidnapped along with some other fishermen by the jungle pirates belonging to Mosharaf Bahini, a newly formed gang of jungle pirates of Sundarban forest were released on Monday after paying the ransom as demanded by the jungle pirates.
Some nine fishermen are still captive in the hands of the jungle pirates as they could not pay the ransoms. It is learnt from fishermen and fish traders, known as Mahajans that on December 29 at 2-30 pm while fishermen of 14 boats were catching crabs from Harbaria area of Sundraban forest in the Eastern Division of the forest jungle pirates of Mosharaf Bahini attacked the fishermen and kidnapped 14 fishermen (one from each fishing boat) in order to realize a fat amount of cash Taka as ransoms. At the same time the jungle pirates looted their caught crabs and other valuables from the fishing boats. After long 10 days on Monday when the family members of fisherman Jahangir paid the jungle pirates Tk.35 thousand as ransom through Bkash he was released by the jungle pirates. (Released fisherman) Jahangir disclosed, 2 other fishermen were released along with him. But I cannot tell about their identities as they hail from different places. He added, as many as nine fishermen are still hostaged in the hands of the jungle pirates. Those hostaged fishermen hail from the different places of Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district and Dakop and Paikgacha Upazilas in Khulna district. Fisherman Jahangir also disclosed, while I was captive in the hands of the jungle pirates they (jungle pirates) used to torture me and others physically very often and supplied nothing for our eating. in order to realize ransom.  
Abdullah-al-Mamud, Operation Officer of the Coast Guard, Western Zone said, they are always engaged in subduing the jungle, protecting the fishermen and rescuing the kidnapped fishermen from their (jungle pirates) hands.
