A court here on Sunday placed three suspected members of militant outfit Islamic States (IS) on a five-day remand each in a case filed with Ishwarganj Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Those remanded are Fahim Al Foysal, a class X student of Atharobari High School and son of Jahurul Islam of Fatehnagar area in the upazila, Mizanur Rahman, 30, and Bodiul Hasan, 31, in the upazila.
Judge of Mymensingh cognizance Court No-4 Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after police produced them before the court seeking
a 10-day remand for each, sub-inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of police Mofizul Islam said.
The authorities of Shohagi School in the upazila caught Foysal while distributing posters with headline, ‘Call from Middle East’, and leaflets of the militant group on Friday afternoon (October 2). Later, he was handed over to police.
Later, a team of police of Ishwarganj Police Station in another drive arrested three people – Mizanur, Bodiul and Haider – from different areas of the upazila on Saturday noon and handed over them to DB police for further interrogation.
SI Mofizul Islam filed a case against Mizanur, Bodiul and Fahim with Ishwarganj Police Station yesterday (Sunday) morning while Haidar Ali was freed.
