3-day photo show on Rana Plaza Tragedy at DU from today

A three-day long photo exhibition begins from today, focusing the Rana Plaza Tragedy (Tuesday) on the Dhaka University (DU) campus. The photos of about 60 photojournalists of home and abroad on the tragedy will be displayed under the banyan tree near the Teacher-Student Center (TSC). The exhibition will be formally inaugurated by William Hanna, European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh, in the Games Room of the TSC. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will attend the programme as the special guest. Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman and Director General of PSC Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Khan will also remain present, among others.  The organisers said, “The Rana Plaza collapsed on April last year in Savar. About 1,100 workers died and several hundred others were injured in the tragedy. In commemoration of them, we are arranging the exhibition.”
