A comprehensive International Expo on Garment & Textile Industry has kicked off at Chattogram’s GEC Convention Center yesterday, says a press release.
Abdus Salam, Chairman, Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has graced the Inauguration ceremony as Chief Guest of 4th Bangladesh Int’l Garment & Textile Machinery Expo and its concurrent exhibitions 4th Bangladesh Int’l Printing, Packaging and Signage Expo, 4th Bangladesh Int’l Dyes & Chemical Expo & 4th Bangladesh Int’l Fabric & Yarn Expo. These exhibitions started on 4th April and will run till 6th April 2019.
Other special guests at the ceremony was Gauhar Shiraz Jamil, Vice President of BKMEA, S. M. Sajedul Islam, CEO of Chattogram BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology (CBIFT), Syed Sirajul Islam, Managing Director – Well Group, Md. Althaf Uddin, Sr. Joint Secretary (Admin) of BKMEA Chattogram, Md. Moazzem Hossain, Sr. Joint Secretary (Admin) of BKMEA Dhaka.
The opening ceremony was leaded by Ahmed Imtiaz, CEO of Redcarpet365 Ltd.
He said, we are holding the biggest ever international expo on Garment & Textile Industry at Chattogram. We are also working hard, to promote Chattogram as Next Business Destination. This year they have brought almost 135 Stalls With Products From 15 Countries Including Bangladesh, India, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA. Chattogram at present generates 40% of industrial output, 80% of international trade and 50% of revenue of the government. For hundreds of years, it has been an inevitable part of the economy of this region. The development of the port city of Chattogram is considered as a strategic national investment.
This is not for regional development only. Rather, this is directly linked to national interest and development. BKMEA is the Associate Partner, Well Group is leading from front as Partner of the said exhibition. Garment & Textile Machinery, Equipment, Technology & Accessories – Manufacturer, Dealer, Supplier & Importers from Home & Abroad have participated at this mega exhibition. These exhibitions will play an important role with the latest machineries, technologies, dyes / chemicals, yarns, fabrics available for Bangladesh on display with Manufacturers / Suppliers from the world available to our Industry at the doorstep. Also these expo will provide an opportunity to our experts, engineers & technicians in the field of textile to have a practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available, without going abroad.
