3 Councillor candidates injured in clashes

At least three councillor candidates, including two from BNP, were in the DSCC polls by their rival groups’ attack in three separate places on Saturday.
Sirajul Islam, a councilor candidate, was attacked while he was entering the Kathalbagan Khan Hasan School polling center under ward number 16 with his supporters to cast vote.
Another councillor candidate, Jahangir Patwari, of ward number 18 was injured by some Chhatra League men while going to Government Laboratory School polling centre, according to BNP’s DSCC mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain’s media cell sources.
In another incident, a clash was occurred between the two supporters of Awami League commissioner candidate Abul Bashar and supporters of independent candidate Munshi Kamruzzaman in afternoon. In the clash, independent candidate Munshi Kamruzzaman was eriously injured.
Voting in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and DSCC began from 8:00am and continued until 4:00pm without any break to elect mayors and councillors.
