The election of five upazilas of Kishoreganj district was held on Sunday. Three candidates of Awami League, one candidate of revel Jatiya Party and one candidate of revel BNP were elected chairman.
It is learnt that, Md.Abdul Wahab Ainuddin supported by Awami League has been elected Chairman of Kathiadi Upazila. He secured 57,751 votes where as his nearest contestant Md. Shahiduzzaman Kakon from BNP got 52,233 votes.
In Tarail upazila Md.Kamaluddin Bhuiyan, an revel Jatiya Party member was elected chairman securing 17592 votes where as his nearest contestant Md. Sayeeduzzaman of BNP bagged 14,415 votes.
In Itna upazila Chowdhury Kamrul Hasan of Awami Leaguer was elected Chairman and he secured 33,453 votes defeating nearest contestant S M Kamal Hossain who got 27,874 votes.
In Mitamoin Upazila Md. AbdusShahid Bhuiyan of Awami Leaguer has been elected upazila chairman.
