Three Barishal courts on Thursday in separate three cases awarded life term imprisonments for killing father, making cousin pregnant by raping and drug peddling.
M A Hamid, Acting Judge of second additional district and session judge of Barishal sentenced Faruk Hossain of Charfatehpur under Babuganj upazila of the district to life term imprisonment with Tk. 10 thousand as fine for killing his father Moslem Fakir.
Rafikul Islam bench clerk of the court said on May 24, 2018 night Faruk engaged in altercation with his father Moslem over family affairs and one stage Faruk hit on head of his father Moslem with an iron rod.
Moslem declared as dead after brought to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital at night.
On next day Aminul Islam, another son of killed Moslem, as complainant lodged a murder case with Babuganj police station and police submitted charge sheet against the killer son on August 28.
The court declared the verdict after examining 13 witnesses, the bench clerk added.
In another case Abu Shamim Azad, judge of the tribunal for preventing torture against women and children, awarded life term imprisonment to absconding accused Rezaul Karim Reza, for making pregnant his paternal cousin after raping.
The court also ordered the accused to bear costing of raring the born girl child till her maturity.
Ajibor Rahman, bench clerk of the court, said the court the verdict after examining six witnesses also fined Tk.One lakh or to serve more two years in jail, ordered to issue warrant for arresting the absconding sentenced accused.
