The supply of gas to CNG-refuelling stations across the country will remain stopped from 12am Friday to 12am Saturday. Announcing the move on Tuesday, a statement from the government said ‘emergency maintenance’ at Bibiyana gas-field called for the suspension. The field, run by Chevron, is a key gas provider, generating about 45 percent of the country’s total gas production. According to the statement, the gas supply to all CNG-refuelling stations across the country will remain stopped from 12am Friday to 12am Saturday. Earlier, on September 15, Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that Natural Compressed Gas (CNG) filling stations will remain open 24 hours for seven days during the Eid-ul-Azha. –risingbd.com
