Around 2,000 passengers escaped narrowly after two launches plying the Dhaka-Barishal route collided in Kaliganj channel early Thursday.
One of the passengers said Manami-2 and Sundarban-10 launches collided in the early hours, leaving 2-3 three people injured.
Source said the two launches started from Sadarghat in Dhaka in the wee hours.
As the original Miarchar channel remained shut, they were plying through the Kaliganj channel.
