Two students of Raujatul Ulum Madrasha in the capital’s Uttara, were rescued from Shahporan Mazar in Sylhet city on Monday night.
The rescued children have been identified as Nayem Ahmad, 13, son of Rumman Ahmad, hailing from Pirojpur district, and Zahidul Islam, 10, son of Atiqul Islam, from Mymensingh district, police sad.
Shahjalal Munsi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahporan Police Station under Sylhet city, said, “We have rescued the missing
babies from Shahporan area of the city early in the morning after Dhaka’s Uttara Police informed us that the two students had gone to Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Mazar after fleeing the madrasha on Sunday night.”
The students also admitted that they went to the Mazar for offering special prayer, the police official said.
The students also told the police that a stranger tried to kidnap them from the Sylhet Central Bus Terminal, the OC said.
The infants were handed over to their relatives on Tuesday night, he said.
