2 smugglers held with 19 deer skins in Sharankhola

Two smugglers were arrested along with19 skins of spotted deer of Sundarbans by DB police of Bagerhat from Rayenda bus stand under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district at Friday night.
 It was disclosed to the newsmen by Pankaj Chandra Roy, Police Super of Bagerhat in a press briefing held in his office room on Saturday at noon (at1 pm). The arrested persons are Ilias Hawladar (35), son of one Motin Hawladar of village Rajair under the same Upazila and Monirul Islam (47), son of one Mosharef Shaikh hails from the village Bhadrapara under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila.
The Police Super told acting on secret information that a good number of skins of deer of Sundarbans will be smuggled at the night a contingent of DB police were lying in ambush Rayenda (Upazila headquarters of Sharankhola) bus stand and as soon as the smugglers appeared there at about 1-30 am they were caught red-handed along with the skins by the (DB) police.
Later the arrested smugglers and the recovered skins of deer were handed over to the police of Local PS. In this connection a case was registered with the PS against them and they were sent to the jail hajat through a court of Bagerhat on Saturday afternoon.
 It may be mentioned here that at Wednesday night (at about 8 pm) acting on secret information a joint force of RAB-8 and forest guards of Sharankhola forest range under the Eastern Division of Sundarbans in Bagerhat district raided the village Rajair under Sharankhola Upazila and arrested a smuggler named Gaus Fakir along with a skin of Royal Bengal tiger of Sundarbans and its sale-proceed Tk.13 lakh.
On Wednesday afternoon he was sent to jail through a court of Bagerhat district headquarters.
