Two minor siblings drowned in a waterbody in Mirpur Dakhshin Para area of municipality of sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Khadiza Khatun, 5, and her brother Shahin Alam, 4, children of Abdul Majid, a resident of the area.
Sources said the children fell into the water in the afternoon while playing on the bank of the waterbody near their house at noon.
Later, locals recovered the floating bodies of the two children from the water in the afternoon.
