Two rickshaw-pullers stabbed each other over prior enmity and later one succumbed to his injuries in a city hospital on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Tazul Islam from Tarail upazila in Kishoreganj district.
The law enforcers picked up five rickshaw-pullers, including key
suspect killer Alamin, on charge of committing murder, police said.
“Alamin stabbed Tazul with the help of his five cohorts during an altercation over a prior enmity in a garage of Rail Colony in Bhasantec of the capital around 2:00am. Locals rescued Tazul and rushed him to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases & Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead after 30 minutes of admission,” said Munsi Sabbir Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhasantec Police Station.
The clash ensued between them over the collection of fare of a rickshaw which was driven by both of them, the police official said.
